Thanks to Brett Campbell for sharing the funeral program above.

From the THS '79 Facebook page:

Donna Stamper, Tom & Genny Cannon, Brett Campbell, Laurie Gregerson Gentile, Barb Grooms, Linda Smith Mason, and Brian & Linda Bukvic attended Sally Sullivan Gunter's funeral and represented our class and those who could not attend.

A beautiful black velvet horse that Sally often rode was saddled and present at Cherry Fork Cemetery -  certainly a moving tribute to her passion, and symbolic of her final ride to a better place.

Also, Brian Bukvic eulogized Sally with these memories:

Sally Sullivan-Gunter

I have known Sally since I can remember. We grew up next to each other in a suburb called Sherwood Forest. I was three years old when we moved into our house and it seams that she was always my neighbor. We played games together along with other kids in the neighborhood. There was tag, four-square, jump rope, roller skating, ping pong and riding our bikes.

When Sally got a little older she started riding horses. Whenever I saw Sally and her mother get into the car to leave I would ask "Hey Sally, where ya going?" She would barely pause and yell back "I'm going to Miljoie to ride horses!" with a big smile on her face. Sally had a great smile.

We graduated in the same high school class and then as adults do, we started to drift apart busy with our jobs, schooling, and activities and new friends. But we always kept in touch and remained friends.

Let me tell you about a dream I had recently. I shared this dream with my wife Linda, and now with you.

Now, I rarely remember my dreams, but this one was very vivid and real. There was this girl with long shoulder length hair. She was slender and youthful. This girl was dancing about, with her arms stretched out and twirling around. There was an occasional leap as well. I sensed a strong feeling of joy. There was pure joy in her heart as she exclaimed "I'm free...I'm free!

I woke up that Friday morning, October 9th, knowing that Sally's spirit was truly free from earthly bondage.

I have peace in my heart knowing that our Heavenly Father has prepared a room in His mansion in heaven for Sally. She has gone home. Someday, Sally will be my neighbor again and I will get to see that great smile.

With much love,

Brian J. Bukvic
